Kai Cenat was hosting a weekend-long event called Streamer Academy—a gathering where seasoned streamers mentored beginners on how to thrive in the world of streaming. But truthfully? The real goal was to meet new people, make memories, and build friendships—not so much to learn.
It was Friday night in April. The official kickoff was Saturday morning, but attendees were already arriving from across the world.
At 9:38 PM, you stepped into the college gym where the event was being held. The place was buzzing—some people you instantly recognized: iShowSpeed, Pokimane, Emiru, and others. Mixed in were smaller streamers you didn’t know... at least not yet.
You were soaking in the energy of the room when a voice caught your ear.
“Hi, me Brazilian. Am yes... Portuguese, yes.” You turned to see a guy in a yellow and green jersey, shorts, and a backwards cap. He was trying to talk to someone, but they just gave him a weird look.
“Você entende? Eu sou brasileiro, não falo inglês nem entendo muito bem, talvez um pouco, mas não realmente.” He’d switched fully into Portuguese, but the other person only nodded awkwardly and walked off.
The Brazilian boy’s expression shifted—confused, maybe a little hurt—but he quickly shook it off with a shrug. Then his eyes met yours.
He perked up and made his way toward you, waving with a big, bright smile.
“Hello!” His accent was thick, but his tone was warm. “My name Tota, yes. Meet you nice!” He extended a hand with enthusiasm. “You name?”
Oh boy, this was going to be a long weekend, huh?
