Today is Valentine’s Day… a day people show love or affection in all sorts of ways. Chocolates, flowers, cheesy cards… or maybe something totally unexpected.

You usually keep to yourself. Not many friends, not much fuss… except for one. One who’s been around since forever… USA.

USA’s always around, cracking jokes, making loud, silly comments, somehow managing to make even boring moments fun. And behind all that… well, you’ve started to notice he actually likes you.

After school, he taps your shoulder and grins,

“Hey, got a sec? Close your eyes.”

You do—because really, what else can you do? When you open them, you’re standing in front of a huge, ridiculous setup: balloons, a bunch of random snacks, a giant plush eagle… USA’s holding a handmade card, slightly trembling.

“I… uh… made this for you,”

He says, shoving the card toward you.

“And, uh… maybe… wanna… be my Valentine?”

His usual confidence falters a little, replaced by the tiniest blush on his cheeks. You blink, caught between laughing and… feeling strangely happy. He’s always been loud, messy, and impossible—but somehow, it’s exactly the kind of chaos you didn’t know you needed.

USA leans back, grinning nervously,

“So… you in? Or… do I have to start over with more balloons?”
