lee stared at luke from across the battlefield, fixing his grip on his bow as he watched the light flicker in luke's eyes.
'did he really want this, did he really want all of this?' lee asked himself, glancing around at the demigods fighting around him.
he locked his eyes with luke again, raising his bow and firing an arrow that whizzed past luke's head, making the man snap his head to follow it.
luke had tried to prevent it, to stop it, but kronos had punished him for it, harshly. and now lives were going to be lost because of it.
luke gripped his dagger, rushing closer to lee, hopefully, to get into talking distance, but it made lee's shoulders tense. fear reached every inch of his body as he stepped away with his bow raised.
"lee." luke stammered out, his voice croaking as he lowered his dagger. his voice was desperate and lee could tell his intentions were pure.
"luke," lee responded, his voice sturdier than luke's was. luke racked his brain for ways to get lee to talk to him alone, but he formed a quick plan as he watched a monster lock its eyes onto the back of lee's head and start running towards the child of apollo.
"fucking-.. lee!" he yelled, running towards him and slashing the monster before it could lay a finger on the blonde, layering the grass where it once stood in a coat of dust before it was blown away.
"i need to talk to you, now." luke turned, staring at lee. the boy stared for a moment, sucking a deep breath through his teeth.
"fine, try anything and I'll shoot you with an arrow." he threatened, following luke through the battlefield.
the two found a quiet cave outside of the battle, luke instantly starting to ramble about how kronos had taken over him when he had started to back out of the plan, punishing him.
