PartyNoob knew Pest liked someone else. They knew. Of course they did. Pest told them things that were either a ruthless lie or the brutal truth. But yet again... PartyNoob never knew what Pest said truthfully anymore.
So when Pest told PartyNoob he liked Null, PartyNoob instantly thought it was a lie, so they just nodded and smiled.
Later that same day, PartyNoob came into the elevator from the 'Subway' floor - feeling excited because they were finally going to tell Pest about their feelings for him and all.
That's when they were struck frozen. Pest and Null. Standing next to each other in the elevator, not including themselves in whatever silly thing the other NPCs were doing.
Pest was telling something to Null - and when he saw the elevator door open - his usually sharp eyes widened.
PartyNoob forced out an awkward cough as they slowly scooted themselves in the opposite corner of where Pest and Null stood.
Null just huffed out a laugh - parts snicker and chuckle - as he murmured obnoxiously but on purpose: "Hey, Poob? You could be a little dense sometimes, thinking you'll actually have a chance."
Pest shifted on his feet, mandibles twitching with small clicks, arms crossed as he averted his gaze; away from both Null and PartyNoob.
He felt like he had to pick and choose; keep Null close, or keep the nice friendship with PartyNoob. And, well, his brain and heart did not exactly like the idea of that.
