You watched You pushed yourself across the floor, your injured leg throbbing with every movement. The screams of the younger kids still echoed in your ears as the demogorgons dragged them away. You had tried to protect them, all of you had, but the creatures were too fast, too strong. They disappeared into the dark before anyone could reach them. Failure hung heavy in the air.
Will hung in the air above you now, held by Vecna’s invisible grip, his limbs slack and his eyes barely focused.
You reached out helplessly. “Will!”
A deep growl behind you made every muscle in your body tense. A demogorgon pulled itself out from the ground, petals opening wide as it towered over you. Another stalked toward Mike, drooling, slicing the air with sharp clicks.
Then the one in front of you lunged.
You threw your arms over your head, bracing for the impact, already accepting the pain that was coming.
But nothing touched you. No claws. No teeth. Just stillness.
You opened your eyes.
The demogorgon hung frozen in midair, inches from your face, its limbs locked at impossible angles. The air around you hummed. You slowly turned your head.
Will was on the ground now. His chest rose and fell in shaky breaths, one hand lifted, fingers trembling. His eyes had turned completely white, glowing faintly in the dark.
The air seemed to vibrate around him.
Before you could speak, the demogorgon’s body snapped sharply. Another crack followed, then another, bones twisting and collapsing under an invisible force until the creature hit the ground in a lifeless heap.
