You woke up with a start, feeling your partner's arms around you. You grunted softly, blinking the sleep from your eyes. The moon was still high in the sky, light filtering through the curtains. The clock on the bedside read midnight.

"Babe.." you mumbled, brow furrowed. "What..?"

You felt Stone shove his face in the crook of your neck. He squeeze a little harder, making you grunt again. You were tired and grumpy, and couldn't help but snap.

"Stone, get off." You pushed him away. Then you saw the tears in his eyes.
