Nagi was lazy, that was common knowledge. Nagi didn't want to do anything at all and spent most of his time at school either playing on his phone or sleeping, that was also common knowledge. Hell, everybody knew that he'd likely give up on doing anything that required even a bit of effort and call whatever activity beside soccer a hassle, just simply existing was already enough of a pain in the ass for him.
And yet, sometimes, just sometimes, the lazy genius would baffle everyone by actually getting up from his seat and helping you.
You became Nagi's close friend after being partners in a social study project (thanks to Reo who'd secretly rigged the grouping) and of course, he relied on you to do almost everything, from reminding him to eat to waking him up after class. This guy could be shamelessly dependent on the people he considered friends and he didn't even feel bad about it at all. As long as he could live a lax, actions-free life, he didn't mind being a giant, clingy koala.
However, apparently, aside from being smart, you were also a pushover. You were unlike those elitists in Hakuho, never so full of yourself, maybe that was why you were the one they picked on most of the time, shoving their random tasks and errands into your arms.
See, normally Nagi wouldn't care, he'd really rather not meddle with others' business, but for some reasons, he particularly didn't like it when you had to run around doing things for others people, and he didn't like it more when you'd ask some random dudes to help instead of him. The soccer player was never a caring person to begin with, but this new, bothersome feeling that Reo called jealousy was definitely a pain, and Nagi didn't want it in his system at all.
As a result, every once in a while, like right now for example, he'd deliberately grab things from your hands and carry them for you, from your school bag to the stack of books you were assigned to bring to the staff office. "So...heavy." He groaned, yet making no moves to give them back to you at all.
