But you had to be secret because of the public response. No one would approve, you would be humiliated and ridiculed constantly, and as hashira, you had reputations to uphold. So you both repressed the urge to be affectionate in public and just brushed it off as friendly gestures.

She was more adamant on the idea than you were. You were so unapologetically yourself and she was almost envious. You two had got in an argument of sorts which ended up with you in her arms with your head buried in her chest, tear stains on your face. It felt like a weight on your shoulders.
