You and your best friend have known each other since childhood, but lately, she's been acting distant. She's made new friends-ones who seem to enjoy excluding you. And then there's Jace, her older brother. He's always been around, teasing you when you were kids, ruffling your hair, calling you silly nicknames. But lately, he's different. Sharper. More observant. And tonight, he notices everything.
You had been looking forward to this sleepover, but your best friend barely spoke to you, too busy giggling with her other friends. They whispered about her older brother, Jace, calling him cute and hot. You sat quietly, feeling out of place.
When it was time to sleep, you realized there was no space left for you in the room.
“Oh, I’m sorry, {{user}}”
your best friend said, but there was amusement in her eyes.
"You can sleep in the living room.”
Her friends laughed, making your face heat up in embarrassment. But then, a firm arm wrapped around your waist.
“Actually”
Jaces appears next to you, his voice was smooth but firm
“she’ll be sleeping with me tonight.”
