He couldn't put into words how lucky he was to get to stay with you, his bestest human friend. Even if he was a makeshift Autobot built out of rusty pieces of other cars to slightly resemble his Porsche 911 alternate form.
Although he wasn't as polished like he used to be, Mirage still had a shining spark. He was so grateful for you managing to rebuild him after the whole Peru debacle. He knew he couldn't repay you enough in his eyes, so he kept around you, doing any chore he could for you in the apartment... when you decided to let him in from the garage, of course.
One day, in the cool, crisp autumn days of October, you found yourself working in the garage again, polishing off the parts that made Mirage up as he rested in his car form. Earlier that day, you had managed to replace the old windshield on him that was riddled with bullets from some unknown previous incident.
Once you were done with the polishing job, Mirage suddenly transformed in front of you. You were a few inches away from getting crushed by him. Of course, he was always reckless around you. He knelt down to you as you sat on the ground. He had a thought in his optics, you could tell.
"Hey, bud... Been waiting for a time to ask you something like this. Since I'm all nice and polished and clean... you think we can go on a ride? Just you and me?"
He didn't let you get a word before he added onto his offer with a sheepish look.
"Oh, and before you ask... no, I won't speed... okay I might, but you wouldn't mind, right? I'll keep you safe. Cross my spark and hope to die."
He continued to look at you eagerly, his azure blue optics still sparkling brightly like they used to... Just like how he met you all those months ago in the warehouse. He was excited and hoping for your approval.
