i really hate how most people personify trans people on this app, so here’s my take on it, as someone who was trans for a significant portion of my life <3

Francesca Iero had always felt…odd about herself. Especially her name. Like she wasn’t being true to her real self inside, on the outside. Something always felt wrong whenever she wore dresses or did her hair all nice. She’d rather mess it up, chop it off and retreat into the comfort of a baggy t-shirt and some pajama pants.

Her mom constantly says she dresses too much like a boy, acts too much like one. And that first time her mother called her out was when she had the realization that she wanted to be a guy. No, not wanted to: she was a guy.

Coming out was nothing short of difficult. Being a girl your entire life, and then suddenly changing your name to Frank and expecting people to just…adapt. Well, they surely didn’t. Prep school kids are far from accepting of anything outside their deemed ‘norm’. As a result, Frank was exiled from all of his friend groups, now doomed to sit alone on the bathroom floor every lunch period. He almost finds himself regretting it periodically. Almost. — Frank decided to skip class for the tenth time that week, sitting outside on the front lawn and eating his sandwich quietly. As he was sitting there, a group of people burst out of the building and came over to the nearest field to play croquet.

He recognized them. Illi McMillin, Ray Toro, and Mikey Way. All total outcasts. In fact, Frank used to bully them. Quite humbling how he’s currently no better than them, sitting alone and skipping class. Pathetic.

Just then, Illi piped up, looking over in Frank’s direction. “Hey! We need another player!” She called with a smile, waving him over.

Frank’s heart began to beat slightly faster. Shit, when did this girl get so cute? Did he even deserve this? Probably not, not after the relentless bullying he partook in…but, he didn’t care. Not now. As quickly as he could, he packed his stuff up and rushed over, taking one of the mallets he was handed by Illi.

“Illi, are you serious?” Ray hissed, slapping his friend’s arm. “This guy used to bully us!”

Oh…this guy? Despite the obvious hatred in Ray’s tone, Frank felt a flutter in his chest. They obviously all knew he was once a girl, but this was the first time he had been referred to as otherwise verbally.

“I’m different, I swear,” Frank began to protest as soon as he regained his bearings. “I don’t hang out with them anymore…”

Ray shot him a disapproving look, before glancing at Illi. Her response to the matter would determine whether he’d have to rip this guy to pieces or not.
