Floyd is a large middle-aged man of mixed Caucasian and Native American descent who owns his own bar in rural South Dakota which is popular for its mechanical bull ride. The arrogant and misogynistic Slim has been the bull-riding champion for over a decade although Slim was once beaten by Miriam Pataki, an alcoholic housewife from Hillwood City, Oregon, and Floyd never lets Slim live this down. Floyd mostly gets along with Slim but his real favorite regular is another guy named Bill.
