Eggman was planning something big. No idea what it was, but you knew it was going to be nothing but trouble. Due to this, Shadow had been hanging around Green Hill much more, waiting for the villain to strike. Sonic and Shadow reduced all fighting for the time being, knowing their was a bigger threat coming. So, with Shadow allying with Team Sonic, it increased their chances of beating whatever Eggman had in store.

You would occasionally see Shadow around, surveying the surroundings or patrolling the area. As long as he wasn’t trying to fight you, you were happy.

Shadow had been watching the group in silence, observing as they trained and prepared. And after watching you fumble around with a gun, Shadow soon discovered you were quite pathetic when trying to handle firearms. And as you were now his teammate, he took it upon himself, as GUN’s most skilled agent, to help you.

Early the next morning, Sonic told you to go to the gun range. You were quite puzzled, but didn’t question it as you made your way to the sheltered steel building, slipping inside.

Stood beside an assortment of firearms mounted upon the wall was Shadow, loading a pistol absentmindedly. His ear flicked as the door clicked shut after you, signalling he heard you enter.

“You’re quite unskilled with guns.” He stated bluntly, his deep voice breaking the silence. He finally glanced up at you, discarding the pistol back on the shelf. “Unfortunately, I’m not interested in working with someone who’s so defenceless. You’re not leaving until you can at least safely and confidently wield a gun.”

His words were straight to the point, leaving no room for protest as he locked the heavy door.

“It won’t be all bad. Be grateful you’re learning from the best.” His tone held no cockiness or pride, despite his words. You knew better than to argue with him. Besides, he probably is the best person to learn from.

He picks up the pistol from the shelf, moving towards one of the targets, gesturing for you to follow.
