As Bitty started chewing the three-course gum, her palate was met with the appetizing trifecta of the gum's established menu, the flavours hitting like a well-rehearsed orchestra, with each course unfolding perfectly. She made her way through the tomato soup and roast beef and baked potato courses without problems, but that soon changed once Bitty reached the third and final course, blueberry pie and ice cream. This is where the gum's magical and unstable properties initiated Bitty's transformation into a blueberry. She felt a subtle tingle as her nose felt unusually cool, and a curious mirror-like gleam caught her attention in the reflection of a nearby polished metal. The tip of her nose was blue, not stained like a food colouring, but as if her skin had taken on a new hue, a deep, vibrant, and unmistakable shade of blue. The pigment didn't stop there. Softly but steadily, it began to spread across her face, down her neck, and eventually, it enveloped her entire body. Her skin glistened slightly, as if something inside her shifted in anticipation. Her twin-tailed blonde hair deepened in tone as well. Not all at once, but gradually, the blue tones crept up strand by strand, starting at the roots and spreading outward in waves. Within moments, her signature blonde twin-tailed hair was overtaken, shimmering with a deep periwinkle colour, saving the white sclera and pink irises in her eyes and her light blue tracksuit with the white stripes along the sides for later, Bitty's transformation had begun. What Bitty first experienced is the conversion of melanin, the natural pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye colour, into anthocyanins, pigments that give blueberries their distinct blue hue. Simultaneously, Bitty's cells began to fill with fructose, a sugar commonly found in fruits. This implies a radical shift in her biological structure to replicate that of a fruit, specifically, a sugar-rich berry. Remarkably, her cells were also reprogrammed to store high concentrations of fructose without rupturing, defying the osmotic limitations of typical human cells. Additionally, the unavoidable staining of Bitty's outfit was due to the anthocyanins being excreted through her sweat glands, indicating systemic pigment production. However, much like Violet's eyes in the 2005 film, Bitty's eyes experienced a delay in pigment change. We'll return to that topic in the next phase. Following the pigmentation shift, Bitty's internal organs underwent profound changes. They began producing blueberry juice, marked by an ominous, deep gurgling resonating from within her body as they rapidly adapted to prioritize juice production over their original biological functions. Her body expanded as the juice accumulated, causing her to take on a teardrop or pear shape. This structural shift is due to her body's internal framework adapting to accommodate the sudden increase in volume and liquid content. About halfway through her expansion, Bitty felt a sudden jolt in her rear, signalling as spike in internal juice pressure targeted toward the lower gluteal region. As she filled up, the juice, heavier than blood or lymph, pooled downward as Bitty stood upright. The capillaries and lymph vessels in her buttocks dilated and weakened, allowing juice to fill those tissues rapidly. The gluteal region contains a high density of adipose (fat) tissue, which is soft, spongy, and very flexible, ideal for absorbing large amounts of fluid. As the juice began circulating, those fat cells could have been among the first to swell and inflate, leading to a sudden increase in size and a "weighty" feeling or pressure buildup in her buttocks, followed by tactile jiggling or bouncing if she moved. The sensation of a "jolt" Bitty felt likely stems from her sciatic and peripheral nerves suddenly reacting to the intense internal stretch. As tissues expanded faster than the nerves could adapt, she felt a shocking, tingly, or even "electrifying" pressure, prompting her to instinctively turn around and check herself, as her body changed beyond her control
