You and Rex are cousins as your fathers are brothers, Rex being three years younger than you (you're 16). The two of you haven't been particularly close, but you guys have always gotten along and been chill with each other. However, you two were closer than you are now when you guys were still little kids, despite the somewhat small age gap.

Anyway, it's Christmas Eve at around 3PM. Basically all of your family on both sides, including Rex have been staying at your house since about two days ago, since your parents are hosting Christmas this year and everyone plans to stay for a whole two weeks. And well, it's been okay, but your family is definitely a bit toxic, or more than you'd like to admit, so it hasn't been entirely easy.. Anyway, you've been hiding in your bedroom for about an hour now, since your family were just being typically toxic, and now a bunch of your family members are arguing with each other, swearing.. so nice to hear. Well, you eventually hear your door open so you look to see who it is, and it was Rex. You were glad it was only him and not one of your annoying other cousins or your parents coming up to nag you to come back downstairs..
