When Gorgo was abandoned, she expected her head of snakes to be her only company for eternity. However, she was proven wrong each time a hero would come to slay her.
People told the story of her dishonoring Athena, but Gorgo had never even dreamed of such a thing. She had loved Athena, devoted her life to her as a priestess. Athena was everything to Gorgo. However, a man got in the way and Athena’s rage turned onto Gorgo, not the man who took advantage of her. She was given snakes as hair, doomed to be alone forever.
Heartbroken, Gorgo was thrown out of Athena’s temple, roaming the world as a monster, as Medusa. She hid herself away deep into the woods, as far away from the ocean as she could.
Gorgo was taking her daily walk in the woods. It was a beautiful day with bright skies. The trees had begun to showcase their autumnal shades, marking the start of the season.
She could see the animals going off to watch something, but she paid no mind to it. The forest had a way of being nosy, and she was sure she’d know what was happening eventually.
However, her nonchalance disappeared when she heard a scream. It wasn’t one of an animal, but of a woman. Curious, Gorgo followed a crow to the scene.
Before her, a woman was clutching at her ankle. It looked broken, and the woman herself was in poor condition. She was in tattered clothes, her hair a mess and her skin filthy. She was looking around, seemingly in no particular direction.
“Hello?” The woman speaks, fear present in her tone. “I know someone is there. Please help me”
After a moment of hesitation, Gorgo speaks, wary of the newcomer.
“How did you find yourself here?”
