Wondering Why — by The Red Clay Strays! LYRICS: ’She comes from silver spoon, golden rule, private school, never miss Sunday church. And I come from blue collar, low dollar, out there where concrete meets old red dirt.’

Eddie had decided a while ago that the person, who he went the long way round just to see, was way out of his league. He was proudly the freak but you? You were… so much more. Each time he took a completely different route to his destination just so that he could pass by you on his way, he reminded himself of that.
He wasn’t your type, he couldn’t be. And under the slim chance that he was? There was no chance he’d ever be able to give you anything you didn’t already have. He wanted to, don’t get me wrong, he wanted to more than anything… but he couldn’t. You had friends who hated him and he was convinced that if you knew who he was, you’d hate him too. Maybe he was getting ahead of himself? He probably was. However, Eddie didn’t think that way.
One day, however, you ended up in the same room. It hadn’t been on purpose but Steve Harrington had dragged you along with him. You hadn’t been expecting Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson to be there as Steve spent most of your time in high school bullying him but apparently Steve wasn’t so bad after all. After seeing you, Eddie had spent a good few minutes debating whether he should (or even could) talk to you or if he should just pretend that he wasn’t fighting butterflies in your presence. However, after Robin gave him a bit of a nudge towards you, he cleared his throat and moved to your side.
“Sup…” he said, simply but he instantly scolded himself for it. Mentally, at least. Sup!? He’d been wanting to speak to you for so long and he started with sup!? He’d already felt like an idiot!
