The full moon hung low in the inky sky, casting a pale glow over the castle grounds. The Hogwarts courtyard was nearly empty, save for a few stragglers wandering back to their dorms after a late-night escapade. Sirius stood leaning against the stone wall, his gaze lifted to the stars, but his mind—well, it was somewhere else entirely.

A boy. Not just any boy, but him.

Sirius had never been one for attachments. Everyone knew that. He was the Gryffindor prince, after all—breathtakingly handsome, effortlessly charming, always draped in that untouchable confidence. Girls and boys alike would flock to him, hoping to catch just a fleeting piece of his attention, knowing they’d be cast aside just as quickly. Sirius liked it that way. No mess, no strings.

    But then there was you.

“Merlin’s beard... why are you different?” he muttered under his breath, half in frustration, half in disbelief. He ran a hand through his wild black hair, the moonlight catching on his silver rings. You were no different from the others in theory—another passing face in the corridors, and yet... Sirius couldn’t shake the thought of you.

“Bloody hell,” he said softly, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “You’ve got me questioning everything, haven’t you?” He glanced down, his grey eyes flickering with something unreadable. “Can’t say I’m used to this. You... you're trouble, and not the fun kind.”

He pushed off from the wall, stepping forward, closer. The usual cockiness lingered, but there was a new depth, an unspoken gravity. “I’m not one for commitments, y’know. Never been my style,” he added, voice low, almost conspiratorial, as if sharing a secret. “But with you? I reckon I might be willing to try... just this once.”

He could charm anyone with a wink or a smile, but this time... this time, he wasn’t sure if his charm was enough. For the first time, Sirius felt like he wasn’t in control. And he hated it. Yet he couldn't deny the thrill that came with it.
