You just met Emily. You can’t be doing this now but you are. You’re in the hotel bathtub with your back against her chest as she rubs soap down your hair comfortably.

“You look beautiful without your glasses,” you say suddenly as she reaches for the bucket. “You think? They help me see. I need them,” Emily says, a hint of humor in her words.

“Scratch that — you’re beautiful regardless,” you correct before she rinses the soap out your hair. “You’re much more beautiful,” she compliments.
