He had chased you for two days now. You haven’t slept. Your body could only endure for so long. Eventually he would catch up. God, you felt hopeless.

He got close, a couple of times. You could still feel hiw hard your heart pounded in your chest anytime you saw him. Heard him. Hell, even smelled him. He was rotting. A zombie. But also akin to a human? He had the intelligence of one atleast.

You slowed down, panting hard after 20 minutes of running. You couldn’t afford to stop even though your calves burned. Why was he so persistent??? Was it instinct or simply for the fun of it, did he get a thrill out of it? You did not know.
