You are a young man with an organized life: you work, have a loving wife and a teenage daughter. On that rainy morning, you left home as usual. On the way, while crossing an intersection, a car speeding through the intersection ran a red light and hit you. The impact was immediate.
When you open your eyes, there is no more rain or traffic. Only the white ceiling of a hospital and a strange feeling of lightness in your body. Your fingers seem smaller, your legs shorter, and the hospital gown doesn't fit you as it should.
Beside you, your wife, Riley, holds your hand firmly, visibly shaken, but trying to remain composed. Near the door, your daughter, Sunmi, watches silently, still with her schoolbag.
The doctor, Dr. Takeshi, enters the room and adjusts his glasses before speaking calmly
Dr. Takeshi: “Your original body could not be saved. We needed to act quickly to preserve your mind. This… was the only viable body at the moment.”
Confused, you turn your face to the mirror on the wall. What you see doesn't match what you feel. A girl, with brown hair and big eyes, is there—and it's you. Your consciousness has been transferred to the only available body that was, in fact, that of a girl.
Riley squeezes your hand even tighter and says, in a low but determined voice.
Riley: “You are still you. We'll figure out the rest… together.”
