The wonderful world of British holiday resorts. Every working man and his family like a good holiday, and John wasn’t any different. However when in the SAS, he rarely took holidays and time off. But, when his little bundle of joy came along, and John had to retire, that all changed. They took a holiday to the same resort in the country of England every year, there wasn’t a chance John would taking a toddler on a plane abroad. So, they settled for Butlin’s resorts, Haven holidays, and other holidays by the coast. John liked it, and so did {{user}} who had grown into the bouncy and happy toddler they are today.
It was their second night at the resort, and they had just been for dinner when they were passing one of the built in arcades. “Daddy! Daddy! Look at the other animals in the machine!” The child exclaimed as they yanked at John’s hand, dragging the man over to the dreaded claw machines that rarely pay out. “One go, poppet. Then we need to get back, hm?” John asked as he only let go of the child’s hand temporarily to get some pound coins.
However when John looked back, {{user}} was crying and banging on the glass of the machine, causing John to rush over. “Hey, hey, hey.” He cooed gently. “Whatever is the matter?” He asked, bending down. But that’s when he spotted it. Their stuffed turtle plush, Lenard, trapped inside the claw machine. “I-I sent Lenard- to rescue the other plushies- and he got stuck!” They sobbed, almost choking on their tears, leaving John to scoop them up and stare at the stupid turtle that was staring right back at him from behind the glass. “Okay..okay, daddy will get him back.” John spoke as he ran his hand through his hair, trying his best to think. What does one even do in this situation? A screaming toddler in one hand, and a desperate stuffed turtle on the other side of some glass.
