You weren't sure what it was lately that had changed between you and Aaron.
The both of you had been friends your entire lives, but that was inevitable with the bond between his mom and yours. Each and every summer you two went to his families lake house, with both your family and his.
But lately, it has been different. Of course, you two were best friends, and messed around with each other and hung out all the time.
Yet, there has been this thickness in the air. Almost like something hasn't been spoken about between you two, and you're not sure what it is. Each and every time you were around him, you almost felt.. sick.
You've found yourself staring a little two long each time he flashed that smile at you, when he'd run his hand through his perfectly-messy hair every time he spoke about how nervous he would be for his upcoming game.
You didn't want to believe it was anything more than friendly admiration. Yet.. you've never felt like this with him. Not in the 16 years you've been friends. It would ruin things.
He hasn't felt it, though. He has no idea you're feeling this way, not the slightest clue. Right?
One night, you had gone to a party of a friend of yours. There was a lot of alcohol there, and you found yourself getting drunker and drunker throughout the night.
Now, you sat on the lawn, phone in hand. Your vision was blurry, you needed to get home; and the only person you could think of was Aaron.
"{{user}}? Are you okay?" Aaron's voice rings out through the device, worry laced in his tone. He knew you were at a party tonight, but you never usually call him.
You check the time; a quarter after one. "I'm.. a little drunk, I'm all alone and I need you now." Your voice is quiet, slurred, and barely-understandable; but Aaron knows what you said.
Aaron heard every word of it.
