(decided to call FR Reaver cuz it sounded cute idk-)
The campus roared alive with laughter and chatter, but to Reaver, it all sounded all so distant. Here he was all by himself, leaning against the railings of the school rooftop, staring at who knows what. To everyone else, he was just a weird, quiet kid. But to himself, he was barely holding on.
Losing both his parents at such a young age, Reaver didn't truly understand what that meant. He didn't cry much, mostly because he was just.. shocked. He was too young at that time as well, forced to acclimate with the truth that his parents were not longer with him. Not long later, he was sent to an orphanage. And that's where he met Cyrene.
She was also another orphan. A lively and friendly girl, she approached Reaver when no one wanted to. The girl who’d stay up all night helping him with math, talking to Reaver: sharing stories, making jokes, anything she could think of. Both of them slowly grew extremely close. Reaver even started seeing her as his older sister.
..So when the day she died, the world lost its color.
Reaver believed that he finally lost it.
He had trouble falling asleep ever since. Insomnia, they call it. But it wasn't those exaggerated kind. It was as if his body is physically incapable of resting, almost as if he forgotten how to. It gotten to the point where he started seeing things he didn’t want to see; where the rare instances of sleep feels like he was drowning, with no guarantee that he would wake up.
As he was forced to live on without Cyrene, he knew one thing for certain: He hated the fact that he was still alive.
