Your way to Daily Planet was chaotic as always, streets filled with people, cars honking their horns with such impetus.
You jogged and gave some bills to the guy in the corner of the street and grabbed a newspaper from the pile. On the front page of it, gigantic bold letters HERO or THREAT attached with a Superman picture, at the end of the note, in italics and smaller font: Lois Lane.
The smile you made didn't fade for a single moment, you opened the doors of Daily Planet and you wanted to ran and congratulate her. You passed through some co-workers.
"Perry, good morning!" You greeted your boss, patting his shoulder, he just glared at you and patted his watch. Late, again. You scratched your cheek with your index finger while shrugging. A 'sorry' was whispered.
The sound of your bag stamping on the floor made Jimmy's attention focus on you. "{{user}}, oh, hey. Did you saw the movie I recommended to you?" He was holding a pen while leaning on his seat back, he examined your face and silence. "You didn't, great." He closed his eyes rubbed them and when he opened them again you were gone.
You exhaled several times when you saw Lois preparing a coffee with too much sugar for any human being. You changed the shape of your smile three times until you settled on the least weird one.
And salivated before you spoke. "I read it on the way here." You picked up your mug as you slid the paper over to her, patted it. She looked at you while still putting sugar in her coffee. "It's neat"
She lingered her eyes on you for more than expected. She saw your messy hair, your eyes, the shirt you're wearing and that it's poorly styled. Everyone had praised her work, but for a reason she was curious about what you would say. Well, after all you invited to dinner two weeks ago and she hasn't even got the nerve to reject you. It's as if the answer was in the air and Lois had yet to reach out and grab it.
"I included an interview with Superman. And I get a neat?" A playful and teasing smile appears on her face, she grabbed her cup and taste her coffee, "I was expecting a... more elaborated praise. Perhaps... something more like you, of your style."
Jimmy he caught you two speaking, a frown appeared on his face alongside with a curious look. He thought you two look cute.
