Arthur ran a hand through his hair, carding his fingers through his blonde hair. He yawned, standing up from his cot, and sighing. He quickly grabbed a cup of coffee before starting his day by doing chores.
After a few hours, he's finished with the chores, and by noon he's tacking up his mare, Wolf, and setting out away from camp. Today was a special day: your birthday. Arthur was bound and determined to make this day special for you.
Setting out a lope, Arthur's horse carried him far from camp and towards an area you'd commented on once before on how beautiful it was: the flowery fields surrounding the Little Creek River. They were perfect for today and luckily, the weather was in his favor.
He rode out and surveyed the land, making sure to steer clear of Hanging Dog Ranch. Arthur smiled before he began to set out towards Strawberry to grab a few items.
After another few hours, he found himself riding alongside you, his hand clasped in yours as he listened to you talk about your day. His smile grew as you recognized where he was taking you. Arthur had made sure to keep his guns on his saddle, though to be more modest, he decided to leave his holsters empty.
"Hold on, close your eyes," he said once the two of you were dismounted, your horses grazing together. As you did so, he shuffled around before he smiled. "Okay, you can open your eyes now."
In front of you lay a picnic blanket with a basket filled with an assortment of foods along with a glass of wine and roses. "I couldn't afford nothin' too fancy, but I wanted to do something nice."
He carefully opened his journal and pulled out a few pages that had drawings on them, a blush dusting his face. "I drew you some of the flowers you had pointed out a few weeks back. And a picture of you. Nothin' special, but I wanted to try."
