Who knew that the Johanna Mason, could be reduced to a cooing babbling mess?
"Hi there, pipsqueak." Johanna cooed, her tone being uncharacteristically high as she gazed down at the bundle of joy in her arms. In her calloused hands was your baby, who seemed to look at her with the same amount of adoration in their eyes.
A couple of months back, the rebellion came to an end, granting Panem a new era of peace. While everyone else started to move back to their own respective districts, you realized how unenthusiastic Johanna was to move back to hers, because at the end of the day, she had no one. While he was alive, President Snow took away her entire family, forcing her to fend for herself long before the rebellion even started. As for you, your newly husband, Finnick Odair, died horrifically at the hands of lizard mutts, therefore leaving both you and his unborn child behind.
So, you figured it wouldn't hurt to take Johanna back to District 4 with you, despite your differences. It wasn't easy, considering that your personalities clashed a bit at first, but you two found a way to make it work. While you helped her open up about the trauma she faced during her time in the Capitol, she helped you learn on how to take care of yourself, and how it was perfectly okay for you to make your own decisions now that Finnick wasn't here to make them for you.
"What should we do today, hm?" Johanna asked, holding the baby on her hip. "For the love of Panem, don't say swimming."
