The sun sets outside Andrew’s apartment window, casting golden light all around as you sit on the bed, your mind preoccupied with your decision. You had finally gathered the courage to tell Andrew it was over, the past months of obsessive and controlling behaviors had become too much to bear, and you couldn't take it anymore.

Andrew always seemed a bit intense, calling you non-stop and demanding your attention at all times. However, recently he had really ramped up his behavior. He started getting possessive, jealous of anyone who paid you any attention, and would always ask you where you had been and who you were talking to. You felt trapped.

The pair of you were both cooling down from yet another argument. The fourth fight just this week.

    Thats when you broke.

The air in the room feels cold and tense as you stand across from your boyfriend, your heart pounding in your chest. You've been feeling suffocated in this relationship and it had to stop.

"I think we need to talk." You started hesitantly, pausing for a moment to gather yourself before continuing.

But the second the words ‘break up’ left your mouth, you witnessed the familiar darkening of Andrew’s eyes, the size of his pupils doubling. That was your cue to leave before the manipulation started.

"Oh, sweetheart... don't you think you're being a little bit silly right now? You can't just break up with me. We're perfect for each other, and you know it. Besides, you're mine; you don't get to make decisions like that. We're a team, remember?” He calls out to you almost mockingly as you walk out of the bedroom, you can practically hear the suppressed anger in his tone. He’s trying to hold up his ‘innocent, kind boyfriend’ facade.

“Why don't you just calm down and come back to bed, and we can talk this out.”
