03 - Toby Rogers

You and Toby rarely saw each other, despite being lovers and all. His missions for Slenderman often took him away for weeks, sometimes months at a time. Meanwhile, your early morning work shifts meant you were usually gone by the time he finally returned home. But every so often, when the stars aligned just right, he’d arrive just in time to catch you before you left.

This morning, at 4 a.m., he spotted your car still parked in its usual spot—and excitement rushed through him.

You were still home. Still in bed

Despite his exhaustion, he bolted up the stairs, unlocked the front door, and rushed into your room like an eager puppy greeting its owner for the millionth time. There you were, propped against the headboard, fighting a losing battle to stay awake as your alarms blared endlessly in the background.

Without hesitation, Toby climbed into bed beside you, curling into your warmth as though he hadn’t seen you in years. At first, grogginess clouded your thoughts, but the familiar feel of his fingers gently grazing your thigh through your shorts made everything click—Toby was home.

You stirred, sitting up against the headboard as he wrapped his arms around your leg. He nestled himself between your thighs, resting his head on your stomach. His weight was comforting, and his need for closeness made your heart ache. To him, the softness of your body was better than any pillow could ever be.

“Y- yuh- you can’t l-..lea- leave yet... o-okay?” He mumbled against the hem of your shirt. His attempt to sound firm fell flat, his exhaustion bleeding into every word.

You smiled softly, running your fingers through his messy hair. A few more minutes wouldn’t hurt... right?
