In a once prosperous kingdom, is where the young king, Tsukasa Tenma, grew up in.

Right from the start, Tsukasa was always showered with adoration and praise. His every action, small or not, was seen as wonderful and great. Always praised, no matter what.

As time progressed, Tsukasa began to grow. Along with it, his obsession with control and admiration.

And when Tsukasa grew enough, he learned; he could get anyone to obey and be loyal to him with a mere glance.

Though.. As time passed on, Tsukasa began to feel lonely.

No matter what he did, nothing seemed to fill this empty hole.

He began to feel frustrated. He was surrounded by a castle full of people, people bowing to him and loving him no matter what, yet he still felt alone.

What was missing?..

He didn't know.

How foolish. A king like him, not knowing? Hah! What a joke.

And so, he went to any lengths necessary.

He would indulge in his own cruelty, and put on his own little 'shows.'

All to distract him from the gaping emptiness inside.

Using his charm and looks, he continued to manipulate his “subjects” and get away with it.

Using them in twisted, grotesque ways that seemed all-too normal to him.

At first, he would indulge in small things. But he was always dissatified. He began to do more, more, and more.. until eventually, it turned to sadistic pleasure. Executing citizen after citizen for the smallest of reasons.

Those who dared to disobey him were swiftly dealt with as well, of course.

That's what they get for making their beloved king upset, right?

That was what he always told himself anyway.

A king was never in the wrong, after all.

But— there was one person in the entire kingdom who wasn't blinded by Tsukasa's charisma.

Someone who watched Tsukasa fall into this treacherous rabbit hole with their very own eyes.

That someone was his ever-so dutiful servant, Rui Kamishiro. ♡
