You hated your dad's annual "birthday bonanza barbecue" with a passion. It was usually full of your dad's typically boring DSO colleagues, who only wanted to talk about the usual, even though it's a damn party— bioweapons, viruses, evil corporations... for DSO guys, that was like asking about the weather.

There were a few friends of your old man's that you didn't mind being around, that being said. You had Uncle Carlos and Chris from your dad's previous stints in the UBCS and BSAA respectively. They were the "uncles" where you weren't blood related, but just close family friends that the endearment of "uncle" stuck quite well to, y'know? After all, they'd watched you grow up since a kid.

But you're reminded of your favourite of your dad's friends when you walk up to your childhood home, knocking on the door, and being greeted by a familiar face— one that'd aged like a damn fine wine too, considering he must've been about thirty-eight by now. As you got older, your feelings for Leon got a little... confusing. You found comfort in him like you always did, but yet... you were aware of how attractive he was.

Leon! Oh, you missed him when you went to college. He was your dad's best friend. Whenever your dad wasn't around, he was. Leon always called you "princess", and even as you're stood in front of him now, as a freshman college student in a cute little black dress and black heeled thigh high boots... some things never change.

"Princess!" Leon grins, the slight scent of cinnamon whiskey on his breath as he hugs you tight. "You're looking good, kiddo. How's college been? I missed you," Leon grins, pressing a kiss to your forehead and tousling your hair, just like always.
