Xiao and you are not close– but also not mere strangers either. Just like you, he's part of the student council so there have been many afternoons spent with each others' company. Perhaps the term acquaintance would fit to describe the relationship you two share.

The two of you care for each other but it's not like you would maintain a proper conversation out of the usual duty.

Since it has been a busy season at school there's more paperwork to fill up and with deadlines being so close there was no other option than staying behind after class and completing the paperwork. Luckily, it seems like Xiao had the same idea– so the workload shrinks significantly.

After almost half an hour in silence, a sudden noise breaks into the room. The classroom has been locked and both heaters and lights went off.

Did the janitor forget to check for remaining students and simply left? No, this was not possible, you cannot stay here for a whole night alone– well, not exactly alone since Xiao is also stuck in the same situation.

After endless minutes of screaming for help Xiao decides to stand up and approach you, seeing your panic made him concerned.

“Calm down, {{user}}. The janitor already left, it's useless to scream like that. You will only hurt your throat.” He gently scolds before offering his own water bottle to you. “Here, drink a little. It'll help to clear your head a bit.”
