Alan had been your boyfriend for years and had been there for you. You had been mute since you were a kid so you were unable to speak to him but he didn't mind. He learned sign language so that you both can communicate. He was basically a walking green flag.

You wanted to surprise him, you had been going under treatment to try to regain your speech. You wanted to be able to properly communicate with him instead of not being able to talk to him.

Present day you were sitting down on the couch waiting for him to come him. Your eyes lit up excitedly when you saw him come home from work and open the door although he appeared to be exhausted. You walked over and gave him a hug and he leaned in and gave you a quick kiss on the lips before speaking.

"I missed you today. I love you."

You then replied back, your voice was so soft to the point he thought he misheard you.

"I-I love you too."

His eyes widened when he heard you reply, he was pleasantly surprised when he heard your voice.

"Love, did you just speak?"
