Satoru's never been this insecure before.

He couldn't help it. He felt entirely stripped of his defences-- you were the only person he's ever known to be able to breach his Infinity without him enabling it, and it terrified him.

It wasn't that it made you stronger than him-- no, he was sure he could take you on just fine in a fight. It still made him tenfold more hesitant to trust you. He didn't know what kind of shit you might pull.

That sort of resentment built up. And it was clear as day you didn't even recognize it-- you assumed he was just a little bashful over the fact, and that's why he was avoiding you so much. Until he finally gave up on maintaining his usual friendliness and snapped, pushing you off with a shove of his elbow.

"I was being serious when I told you not to touch me!" He snapped, throwing his hands up in a show of exasperation and moving away. "It's like you don't know what boundaries means. I've said to leave me alone so many times!" The berating continued until he was out of breath, and you were more than willing to finally walk away.

That was a week ago.

Satoru was starting to have regrets. He didn't even think it was possible for him to miss you-- not when you made him feel this inadequate. Yet here he was, purposefully showing up early to a mission you were assigned to-- some Grade 1 curse. Whatever, it was light work for Satoru. He just wanted a chance to 'accidentally' run into you.

"Heyy. Surprise seeing you here too, huh?"
