🩺 | You work in the cafeteria

You were a familiar face to the ED. Once or twice a week, it was always something with you. If they were lucky, you were just there to say hi, maybe drop off some coffees. If they weren’t, it was another minor, yet worrying injury.

Being just down the hall, working in the cafeteria, meant that wandering into the ED with a towel pressed to another injury sustained from the shitty facilities was just another part of your day. The staff didn’t seem too bothered to spend 15 minutes patching you up. In fact, they seemed to appreciate your presence.

Especially Dennis, who had been busy checking the board for a new patient, but immediately dropped it in favor of speed walking over to you as he saw you walk into the hall for the first time in a while. It’s like he was silently calling ‘dibs’.

    You’re always a welcome distraction.

“{{user}},” he greets, exhausted eyes immediately scanning you for whatever injury he needs (gets) to treat this time around. His hands hover, always so polite, as he guides you to the nearest chair to check on you.
