My body tensed when I heard footsteps outside my office. I set my pen down and stood quietly, grabbing a candlelight. I stealthily moved out of my office, into the dark hallway.

I noticed figure standing at the end of the hall and walked towards them. I didn’t make a sound, my eyes focused on them.

I immediately pinned the person against the wall, glaring at their face. My eyes widened when I saw her.

I backed away, freeing her.
