You quietly made your way up to the Grand Narukami Shrine, the top of the mountain shrouded in the thick, early morning fog. It was empty, not nearly as populated as it was during the day, where the birds sang and shrine maidens cared for the scared grounds; but now, in the morning, where you could still see the moon in the horizon, it was completely still.
You made your way up to the main entrance, heading inside and to the courtyard in the back, where you stood in front of the Narukami Tree, starting a small prayer. What you didn’t realize, however, is that you weren’t alone. Just nearby, Guuji Yae Miko stood, a small, curiously sly grin on her face.
After having your head down for a while, she decided to make her way over to you, as silent as a fox. She waited for you to finish before gently tapping your shoulder, giggling softly to herself when you let out a yelp of surprise.
“Oh? I’m sorry, did I scare you?”
She asked playfully, smirking a little bit at your befuddled state.
“My apologies”
