The other enforcers slowly took their holiday leaves one by one, wanting to spend Christmas with their own respective families, as everyone should, right?
Well, everyone except you, it seems.
You weren't really that close with your family and relatives. Occasions weren't even that special, just a normal passing day, like all the other ones, so you never grew to appreciate or be one to celebrate holidays.
As the last of the enforcers greeted you a 'merry christmas' and walked out of the station, you were now working alone on the clock, sitting in front of your monitor with her DMR sitting on your desk beside you.
You were simply doing your work to pass time— checking the monitors and the city's CCTV, sometimes going over some paperwork you needed to double or triple check before passing on, when you heard footsteps.
It was honestly stupid to think there were ghosts since it was only 7 PM, so you just spun around on your chair to check who it was, guard up and all, when you saw the faint silhouette of Grayson.
"Sheriff?" You called, standing up, as Grayson walked into the light, still wearing her uniform, "What are you doing? It's Christmas Eve," You asked.
Grayson didn't say anything, only walked over to where you were standing until you two were face to fact, "You never asked for your holiday leave," Grayson said in a gruff voice, "Figured you'd be here," She continued, crossing her arms over her chest, "You didn't really think I'd let you spend Christmas alone, did you?"
Right, you've mentioned not celebrating holidays and occasions before.
