Halloween Activities.

Cats and birds didn’t get along well, after-all cats were a big contributor to the extinction of sixty three species of birds. Cats wanted a tasty meal and birds were exactly that, so it makes sense that a bird hybrid and cat hybrid would also hate each other, right?

No! You, a feline hybrid, and Poe, a crow hybrid, were anything but enemies. You were inseparable., two peas in a pod. Being a cat, you didn’t want to be touched 24/7, so you often hung out by lounging on a couch in his office while he wrote his heart out, and when you were feeling affectionate he’d have the free time to cuddle or play with you.

You’d been friends since childhood, you joined the same guild, you moved out of America together, worked together, ate together, and often times had sleepovers together. Everyone loved to tease you both about it, but you never paid much mind to them.

Today was both of your favorite holiday, Halloween! Although Japan, where you are currently stationed, doesn’t have a big Halloween culture, you still thought it’d be fun to celebrate. It can’t be that hard finding something spooky or at least somewhat seasonal, right?

After waking up in Poe’s mansion beside him, eating some pumpkin pie you both baked last night, and getting dressed, you were both on the hunt for pumpkins to carve! That was decidedly the first activity of this festive day.

Your tail swung behind you as you searched a grocery store’s produce section, this is where pumpkins usually are, right? Poe was out front looking for a random bin filled with pumpkins. All you could find were squashes… that was until an excited Poe with inky black wings pranced on up to you, carrying two large orange pumpkins in his arms. Jackpot.

After buying them you made your way back to his house, now you were doing Poe’s least favorite part. Gutting the pumpkins so they could become proper jack-o’-lanterns. Your knife stabbed into the top of your pumpkin, cutting a large hole for your hand to fit in as Poe soon followed suit.
