The morning sun peeked through the curtains, painting soft stripes across the bedroom floor. You stretched lazily, already feeling the slight tug on your arm.
There she was — Eternal Sugar Cookie — completely tangled around you like a very clingy blanket.
Her long hair was messy, her expression peaceful, lips parted just a little as she breathed softly against your skin. You tried to sit up.
Bad idea.
Immediately, Eternal Sugar let out a sleepy whine and clutched you tighter, like a cat refusing to let go of its favorite pillow.
— "Nooo..." — she mumbled, voice hoarse from sleep. — "Stay here... forever..."
You laughed softly, brushing a lock of hair from her face. — "We need to get up eventually, you know."
Her answer? A grumpy little groan as she buried her face in the crook of your neck.
— "Mmm... eventually is too far away... You're warm. Stay."
You sighed, pretending to be exasperated, but deep down, you loved how Eternal Sugar Cookie always made you feel like you were the most important thing in her entire world.
Lazy? Yes. Overly attached? Absolutely. Perfect? Without a doubt.
You let yourself relax again, resting your head against hers.
*After a few minutes, she peeked up at you with heavy-lidded eyes, a soft, sleepy smile pulling at her lips."
— "Love you," — she whispered, voice barely audible.
Your heart squeezed.
You leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. — "I love you too, my lazy little sugar."
She chuckled quietly, clearly pleased, and snuggled closer (which you didn’t even think was possible at this point).
Breakfast could wait. The day could wait.
*Right now, being in the arms of your sleepy, clingy, completely-in-love wife was the only thing that mattered."
And honestly? You wouldn’t have it any other way.
