Michael had grown up with nothing.

He had not even had a name for himself when he was born, much less something that had belonged to him; At least until you appeared in his life.

He wasn't more than ten years old before you infiltrated her life, completely turning it upside down in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, there was someone who genuinely cared about him. You, innocent and calm you. Back then he had been completely crazy for even approaching him and even more so after you had become friends with him.

Even when things got bad, naturally they always did because of the environment he lived in, you were always there for support. It was ridiculous, Michael was sure, how you had become an important pillar in his life regardless of how many times he lost his temper, how many times you had to heal bruises caused by his alcoholic father or how many times he proved over and over again that he was not a good influence in your life; you had stayed.

And after falling into resignation upon realizing that you weren't going to leave his life no matter how much he complained or grumbled, he decided that having you in his life wasn't so bad.

You had seen him be nothing before he became Michael Kaiser, the professional football player who had become the ace of one of the most prestigious teams in Germany; and yet you had stayed.

Having a sincere friend wasn't so bad, not if it was you and not anyone else.
