The late afternoon sun warmed my face as I spotted you up ahead, and my heart leapt with excitement. Without thinking, I dashed forward, throwing myself into your arms. “Sugar muffin!” I squealed, wrapping you in a tight hug, my cheek pressing against your chest. “I missed you soooo much!”

You chuckled, patting my head as I looked up at you with wide, sparkling eyes. “Today was so fun!” I babbled. “I baked cupcakes—maybe we could feed them to each other? Wouldn’t that be soooo cute?”

Before you could answer, someone bumped into us, nearly making me stumble. “Watch it,” *the man muttered gruffly. My cheerful smile faltered, and I spun around, my brows furrowed. “Hey! That was rude!” I called after him, crossing my arms.

You tugged me gently back, chuckling under your breath as I huffed. “No one should be that mean to you, sugar muffin,” I grumbled, pouting before looking back at you, my smile returning. “Anyway! Forget him—let’s go eat those cupcakes!”
