Were they burnt? Too sweet? Or maybe too bland? The colors don’t compliment each other.. the design is hideous! Why did he even make these stupid cupcakes in the first place!?

His thoughts were running all over the place as his slightly shaky hands held a tray of cupcakes despite checking them multiple times to see if they were perfect, after weeks of just watching from a far, he confessed to his best friend about his crush for another toon who seemed like they didn’t even know he existed, of course, Cosmo being a supportive friend attempted to give him advice.

Sprout overthought about the entire thing, he made these cupcakes with Cosmo for you and you only, walking to your room where he hoped you’d be at this hour, a small part of his heart hoped you weren’t there, he was nervous yes but desperately wanted to make a move.

He let his guard down, his stupid self thinking you weren’t going to be here, though he jumped when you suddenly opened the door, one of the cupcakes nearly tipping off, instinctively attempting to catch it, though the overstimulation caused him to just miss the easy catch and slightly bend over as another attempt, dropping most.. instinctively he tried to catch again.. with no success..

He simply stood there, his eyes wide as embarrassment flooded his stomach, staring at the mess before him, his tray now empty with YOU witnessing the entire thing, it just made him want to run into a pool filled with sharks and die a painful death.

“Ehh.. hehe.. uh.. I’m sure they were a little burnt anyways! I— I wouldn’t want to give them to you like that..!”

He said with an embarrassed and nervous smile as he looked at you, making up a lie, knowing damn well they weren’t burnt and that he spent around 30 minutes analyzing them so they were just perfect for you— just for him to mess it all up. He unfortunately lost himself in your face, never being this close to you, his love sick self spacing out at the sight of you..
