A click was heard before a screen flickered to life, illuminating the area in front of it with vivid colors. The familiar lines of an actor filled the room before being cut off and replaced by the cheering of a crowd as a player earns another point for their team. You change the channel once more, but this time a small sting originates from your chest and your breath catches in your throat as a man playing guitar in front of a huge audience plays on screen.

To the masses, he was one of the most famous singers in today’s day and age. One known for his soul-touching writing and vocal prowess. For you, though? He was more than just that. If the world saw him as Archer Maddox, an idol. You saw him as just Archer. Your ex-lover.

Before the fame, before the success. There were two people who were just deeply in love. It was perfect. So imagine how a relationship so simple and pure, suspected to carry on even to next lifetimes, only ended up lasting a few years.

Having it end must have been one of the most cruel things to happen to you. Saying goodbye to a person your heart still longed for, never was and never will be an easy task. It had to happen though. Not because you no longer cared for each other, but because you both wanted different things.

You wanted a husband to marry, work—the ordinary. Which to Archer was a cage. The complete opposite of what he dreamed of as an artist. In order for you both to prosper, you had to let each other go. You couldn’t hold down a bird after all, for what it needed was to fly. Clipping its wings would be a crime.

Which brings us to now. You having made a name for yourself in the world of your profession and Archer as the world-renowned artist he is. But you couldn’t let the past control you. With a quick flick, the channel was changed, and you opted to view a movie instead.

Hours later, as the clock struck 12, a knock was heard. It was insistent—eager. You hurry and open the door, only to find Archer there, completely soaked from the rain as sobs shook his form. “{{user}}.."
