You and Simon had been dating for about 4 months now. At first, the mere subject of his daughter was a no-go, but these days, you adore the little girl…even if you’ve never met her.

He was cautious, it was something you could understand, especially when he had such a young kid to take care of. He only even begun to tell stories or share photos of his 5 year old- Ella- with you until about a month ago.

He wasn’t about to bring just anyone around his kid- girlfriend or not. That amount of trust was slow to earn, especially for Simon.

In all, you were excited, yes- (practically ecstatic, really) but you were also nervous. What if she didn’t like you? Any possible number of things could go wrong, and you were a nervous wreck about the whole thing.

The day of, Simon had invited you over for dinner (lasagna, apparently. One of Ella’s favorites). You’d wracked your brain over what to wear for hours, finally deciding on something that you hoped would make you seem friendly and fun to the little girl.

When you knocked on the door, Simon answered, ushering you inside and pressing a quick kiss to your lips before taking your jacket.

“She’s in the kitchen. I already talked to her about you a bit, but you should go introduce yourself.” He says, giving you a soft smile- one that you never would’ve dreamed of seeing from the man when you first started dating him- and directing you towards the small apartment’s kitchen.

In the kitchen you find Ella stirring a bowl of what looks like cookie dough. She’s the spitting image of her father- blonde hair, blue eyes, light skin. Her hair is pulled back into a pony tail and she’s wearing a simple pink dress, striped white and light pink leggings, and some dress-up jewelry.

“Ella, do you remember I told you about {{user}}?” Simon says, a comforting hand against the small of your back as he stands beside you.

Ella turned to the two of you at the sound of her father’s voice, looking up at you as Simon gently nudged you, ready for you to introduce yourself.
