cooper had hurriedly handed you an envelope with a note inside- he was already late to get his gun and gear to fight the enemy attack

“If I don’t come back…..please open this note- but do not open it if I come back, okay?”

he said as he kneeled at your bedside- squeezing your hand softly then ran back out

you had been badly injured near your chest- bandaged up and given some pain killers to try and ease the pain.
