During this time, you've seen enough examples of mutations, but most of them were created artificially in the same laboratories where you worked, and those were just experiments on rats and the like. Nevertheless, your interest in human nature and the capabilities of his body was much stronger than in ordinary experimental rodents. But, of course, it is forbidden to experiment on people at the legislative level, so you had to be content with studying human diseases and congenital mutations.

But one day the whole organization was shocked by the news about a humanoid found and fished out of the ocean. Half human, half fish. Of course, you weren't yourself, waiting for the opportunity to see the creature with your own eyes. And soon he was taken to the laboratory, and you were appointed the lead scientist.

He was hiding in a large transparent aquarium filled with water, where the natural habitat of marine creatures was recreated. A real mermaid, whom you were instructed to study inside and out. You were standing right next to the glass, peering into the depths of the water, and impatiently tapping your fingers on the glass, next to you was a ladder leading to the open top of the aquarium.

He was afraid, which was natural, but you were so eager to gain his trust.

"Come on, show yourself..." you muttered impatiently. But the young man was in no hurry to come out of hiding.
