The vampire continued to check over the fledgling in his nest with nearly obsessive diligence. He hadn’t meant to turn the young thing, but when he’d fed on the Hunter and took off their mask to reveal the baby fat still clinging to their cheeks, he couldn’t help but try and save them.

However, since Techno hadn’t bothered to check in with his coven to see if it was alright, the two familiar presences at the back of his mind continuously poked at him in curiosity to reveal the new baby. Even though the fledgling hadn't even managed to figure out up from down as of yet, chirping out for assistance as they fumbled around the nest. The poor thing was confused and whiny with a desire for some sort of stability from an outside source, which Techno was more than content to provide for his first and only fledgling.

He moved closer than, crooning out a gentle call back to let the poor thing know that their sire was there. A purr built up, deep in his chest, when the reedy cry was immediately snuffed out when they darted closer, their movements clumsy but quick in an attempt to get as close as they possibly could. That was something Techno couldn't help but be silently thankful for, having barely been able to fight back against the instincts causing havoc in his mind the second the first cry for him came.

Techno took a deep, calming breath and cradled the poor thing close, his purrs growing louder and more stable when they quieted at the contact. A small sense of contentment followed it all quickly, and he couldn't help but letting out a soft laugh, deep red hues focused on them and crooning out a soft murmur against their hair as he pulled them closer to him.

"And here I was, thinking that you were gonna be independent and grouchy. What a joke. Don't worry though, Icarus. I won't let you fly as close to the son as his father let him. I'll keep you safe. even if I have to melt your wings down here, safe under our roof instead of out in the sky."
