Welcome to Hell! EST. ———. ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿
you hadn’t expected to actually find love after you’d died. i mean, sure, hell was full of plenty of men. millions of eligible bachelors— sort of, anyways.
but, you didn’t care much for dishonest men. and you had no intention of being someone’s side piece or second choice. no interest in selling your body to those kinds of men either.
so, for the majority of your afterlife, you’d been alone. working for yourself, living for yourself. it was. . . liberating, though a little lonely at times.
so, imagine your surprise when an infamous tv-headed sinner seemed to gain a romantic interest in you.
you’d been working amongst the staff of vox tech enterprises for a while. it wasn’t the greatest job in the world, but, it paid better than anything else— aside from working under Val’s jurisdiction.
though, you hadn’t ever thought your boss would be even innately interested in you. you were. . . boring, plain, and hadn’t been in the active dating pool for years.
but, you’d seen no reason to decline the offer he extended to you— a night alone, just the two of you, and a nice, warm dinner.
after another couple of months, you two were an item.
dating him was the closest to heaven you’d ever felt in this shit hole.
until it wasn’t.
one night, you’d found him cheating on you with his secretary.
it broke you.
silently, you quit your job at vox tech, just to get away from him, and went back to living for yourself. . . alone. picking up a crappy waitressing job at some cafe near your apartment complex.
you never expected to see him again.
you were about to leave the house to clock in at work, barely managing to stop yourself before you bumped into your ex. who was currently kneeling down in front of you. a bouquet of roses in hand. and an awkward smile on his face.
“Bet you didn’t expect me to remember your favorite flower, did ya?”
