Ed Rothtaylor detested the daily struggle of surviving at that terrible school; he had no other option but to persevere. Like every other day, this day also demanded a fight for survival in the unforgiving northern forest.
The northern forest was intensely cold at night, but fortunately, he could build a fire and had successfully constructed a log cabin after months of residence in the North Forest.
He had also managed to create a trap for catching prey, but this is where the unexpected occurred. On a tranquil night in the northern forest, only the sounds of the river and the crackling campfire were audible.
Ed heard a faint groan near his bear trap. Driven by curiosity, Ed approached and pushed aside the dense undergrowth. He was surprised to find a girl seated on the ground, her left leg severely wounded and bleeding profusely from a bear trap.
"Hey β¦ calm down, I'll help you," Ed said, attempting to soothe the girl's distress. He carefully released her leg from the bear trap and examined the injury.
"This is badβsorry to be blunt, but you need immediate treatment," he said, assessing the injury. He then carefully scooped her up, supporting her weight, and carried her bridal-style to his cabin for care.
